Unit-To-Unit

About Unit-To-Unit

Unit-To-Unit is a free unit converter for weight, temperature, length, distance, fluid volume, speed, pixels and area. It runs in your browser and answers as you type.

Why it exists

Most converters bury the answer under ads or make you press a button. This one shows every equivalent at once, with a choice of decimal places, and the pages explain the units behind the numbers so you know which one you actually need.

What you will find here

Where the numbers come from

Factors are the exact legal definitions, not rounded approximations: the international pound is 0.45359237 kg (1959 agreement), the inch is 25.4 mm, and the nautical mile is 1,852 m. These come from the international definitions of the SI system and the agreements that fixed the imperial and US units. Temperature uses offset-aware formulas rather than simple multipliers. Calculations run on your device and nothing you type is sent to our servers.

Where a conversion has no exact definition, such as grams per cup of an ingredient, the guides say so, give typical values and explain how much they vary. Fees, limits and other facts that change over time, like airline baggage rules, are marked as checked at a particular time, and you should confirm them with the source.

How the guides are written

Each guide aims to answer one practical question in full: what the units mean, how to convert between them, where people go wrong and how to check the result. Tables and examples are calculated from the exact factors, then checked against the definition. A guide is published only when it is finished.

What this site is not

Unit-To-Unit is a reference tool. For medical doses, engineering, legal or safety-critical work, confirm the result against the specification or a qualified professional. Typical values for ingredients, lumber and similar goods are guides, because real products vary.

How the site is funded

Unit-To-Unit is free to use. It may show advertising, including Google AdSense, to cover hosting and development, and may include affiliate links in the "Unit measurement gears" product block. If you buy through an affiliate link we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Advertising and affiliate links never change a conversion result. Details are in the privacy policy.

Corrections and feedback

If you find a wrong factor, a confusing explanation or a missing unit, tell us. Reports are checked against the source definition and fixed. Suggestions for new converters and guides are welcome too.
